Learning Parent Partnership
Our LPPA History
At Snapethorpe Primary School, we are continually seeking ways to strengthen our partnership with parents and carers, as well as to build deeper, more meaningful connections within our wider community.
In December 2021, we were proud to achieve the prestigious Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA), a national recognition of our commitment to engaging families in the life and learning of the school. Since then, we have remained dedicated to upholding and further developing the standards required by the award, ensuring that collaborative working with parents and carers remains central to our ethos and practice.
Our Vision
We believe that continuing to work towards the Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) will enable us to build on the many strengths our school already has in engaging with parents and carers.
Our aim is to support parents throughout their child’s educational journey, particularly during key transition periods both within and between schools. We are committed to being inclusive of all parent groups, encouraging active involvement in their children’s learning while also offering opportunities for their own personal development.
As part of this commitment, we strive to ensure that Snapethorpe Primary School remains a welcoming, communicative, and friendly environment for all families. We provide clear and accessible information to help parents support their children’s academic and personal growth. We also develop parent-friendly policies that promote effective home–school partnerships and outline the shared responsibilities of parents, pupils, and the school. This information is communicated regularly and transparently to ensure ongoing engagement and collaboration.
Our Intended Outcomes
The Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) will support us in achieving a range of long-term benefits that contribute significantly to the overall success and development of our school community. These include:
- Improved pupil outcomes, including attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and academic progress.
- Increased parental participation and engagement, fostering a stronger sense of partnership and shared responsibility.
- Enhanced support from parents in their children’s learning, both at home and in collaboration with the school.
- Strengthened communication between home and school, ensuring clarity, consistency, and mutual understanding.
By embedding these principles into our daily practice, we aim to create a school environment where all children are supported to thrive, and where families feel genuinely valued and involved in the educational journey.
The Snapethorpe Way
We aim to maintain our LPPA Award buy following the Snapethorpe Way which is:
S – Supportive: We foster a nurturing environment where every child and family feels valued.
N – Nurturing: We promote emotional, social, and academic growth through care and encouragement.
A – Ambitious: We set high expectations and inspire all learners to achieve their potential.
P – Partnership: We work hand-in-hand with parents, carers, and the wider community.
E – Engaging: We create learning experiences that captivate, motivate, and involve everyone.
T – Trusting: We build strong, respectful relationships based on honesty and reliability.
H – Holistic: We support the development of the whole child—academically, emotionally, and socially.
O – Open: We encourage transparent communication and welcome diverse voices and perspectives.
R – Respectful: We value every individual and celebrate differences within our inclusive school community.
P – Positive: We promote optimism, resilience, and a growth mindset in all we do.
E – Empowering: We give children and families the tools and confidence to take an active role in learning and development.
Our Next Renewal
The academic year 2024-2025 sees our renewal process for the LPPA Award taking place. Although an ongoing initiative and an important part of school practice, we will ensure that all relevant information is documented and provided to our assessor, who will be visiting in June.
